Why an Egg chair? The iconic Egg chair designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958, features in Eoin’s book, which sees him bring eternal pessimist Arthur Dent, his alien best friend Ford Prefect and the two headed Galactic President Zaphod Beeblebrox back from the dead.
The 42 individually numbered chairs will feature a unique embroidered exploding earth on the back, hand finished to add to their exclusivity. The front of the chair features stunning optical white hide with a cow hide seat cushion. Interior design practice Lost Weekend will showcase and sell the chairs from their design store in Wexford, Ireland, Eoin Colfer’s hometown. Anyone who purchases a chair will be registered as the owner and will also receive a free, signed edition of And Another Thing . . . A matching footstool will be made available to owners later in the year. The chairs design is an original Fritz Hansen Egg™ chair, designed by Arne Jacobsen, Hitch Hicker’s limited edition is by Lost Weekend’s design team Emily, Declan and Patricia.
